There were only two chess clocks in the club on the first night. That meant that only a limited number of people could participate in the 15-minute ladder… Having only a couple of clocks in the club will also make it impossible for us to run USCF-rated tournaments, not to mention that it limits the number of timed games we can play just for fun.

So, I would like to encourage everyone to get themselves a clock. Here’s a good source of inexpensive clocks: wholesalechess.com. Their least expensive clock is only $20.

Neither me nor the club are affiliated with that company in any way, or have any financial interest in them. But I did just buy a chess set from them recently, and it arrived reasonably quickly (about 5 days, I think), and was of good quality. There are many other sources of chess clocks on the web, but this is the cheapest one I’ve been able to find. Let me know if you know of any place that sells them cheaper.
